Impact/Purpose:
Information.
Description:
Two chromated copper arsenate (CCA) wood-treatment plants were assessed for their waste minimization practices. These practices have been reflected in several areas, including facility designs, process controls, and management practices. he objectives were to estimate the amount of hazardous wastes that a well-designed and well-maintained CCA treatment plant would generate, and to examine the possibility of pollution prevention and waste reduction in a CCA plant. The information collected will be used to develop a pollution prevention guide that will assist wood treaters in identifying ways to prevent pollution and reduce wastes
