GLOBAL CHANGE RESEARCH NEWS #15: WORKSHOP ON ANCILLARY BENEFITS AND COSTS OF CLIMATE CHANGE STRATEGIES. 2000.

Description:

EPA's Global Change Research Program is co-sponsoring a three-day workshop to examine possible ancillary benefits of climate change adaptation and mitigation policies. The goals of the workshop are: (1)to establish a common basis of understanding about the conceptual and empirical elements of ancillary benefits and costs of strategies intended to reduce the risks, and take advantage of the opportunities, posed by climate change; (2)to identify options for integrating ancillary benefits/costs into policy design and analysis; (3)to identify research gaps and fruitful areas for further research to narrow uncertainties about this issue and make the analysis more useful for policy-makers, with a special focus on domestic U.S. research priorities.
