LAND USE/LAND COVER, NEUSE RIVER WATERSHED (BUFFERED)
Description:
EOSAT and the North Carolina State University Computer Graphics Center, in cooperation with the NC Center for Geographic Information and Analysis, developed the Land Use/Land Cover digital data to enhance planning, siting and impact analysis in the Albemarle-Pamlico Estuarine Study area and the rest of Eastern North Carolina. The data layer enables the user to identify areas depicting human uses of the land, vegetation, water, natural surface, and construction in this area. The raw data was classified, run through a 5x5 pixel filter, tiled into standard USGS 1:100,000-scale map extents, and is stored in a tiled library. This data set is buffered at 5 km around the boundary of the Neuse River Basin. A non-buffered (EIMS ID#12220) and raster version (EIMS ID#12240) of this data set are also available.
