The approaches described in this paper will substantially improve risk assessments for compounds that undergo biotransformation. The purpose of this report is to review methods used by mammalian researchers to perform in vitro-in vivo metabolism extrapolations, discuss how these methods could be adapted for use with fish, and describe how extrapolated values could be incorporated into compartmental kinetic models for fish.
