Tampa Bay Estuary Program. TAMPA BAY ESTUARY PROGRAM, 2004 IMPLEMENTATION REVIEW. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, Washington, D.C.
Description:
The Tampa Bay Estuary Program and its partners have made measurable progress toward implementation of the adopted CCMP goals. Progress has occurred in the following areas: bay habitats, with an increase in seagrass, estuarine habitat restoration and preservation; water and sediment quality; sediment quality goals; and dredged material management. Emerging challenges identified include incorporation of low impact development, reduction/control of invasive species, ensuring public access, assess and create goals/targets for tidal rivers, construction of a longshore bar for seagrass recovery, and the use of remote sensing to track changes.
