DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PRODUCTS FOR THE EPA EMPACT PROGRAM

Citation:

Hedges*, S. DEVELOPMENT OF TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER PRODUCTS FOR THE EPA EMPACT PROGRAM. Presented at Nationally Televised Satellite Broadcast of the EMPACT Program, Washington, DC, December 04, 2000.

Description:

A presentation was given for a National Satellite Broadcast on the development of technology transfer handbooks for the EMPACT program. These handbooks help spread the knowledge and experience developed from the EMPACT projects. Handbooks are being prepared for every fully implemented EMPACT project. A fully implemented project is one where the monitoring, data delivery, and communication/outreach components are fully operational, and real-time monitoring data is being collected. Each handbook shares lessons from EMPACT projects to ensure the benefits are broadly distributed across the country. Handbooks provide step-by-step instructions on how to design, site, operate and maintain the project's monitoring program; install, configure, and operate the project's data management and delivery system; and develop an outreach plan to communicate information about real-time environmental information to the community.
