Description:
The report describes an extensive characterization and parameter assessment study of a single, large building in Bartow, FL, with the purpose of assessing the impact on radon entry of design, construction, and operating features of the building, particularly the mechanical subsystems. As part of the study, the response of the structure to a range of heating, ventilating, and air-conditioning (HVAC) operating conditions was continuously monitored to determine optimum HVAC conditions to reduce indoor radon within the envelope of acceptable operation, regarding energy, comfort, and indoor air quality impacts on the structure.
