Impact/Purpose:
To provide information relevant to the cumulative risk assessment of pyrethroid insecticides
Description:
This manuscript provides important information relevant to the cumulative risk assessment of pyrethroid insecticides. Others have proposed that pyrethroid effects on voltage-gated calcium channels contribute the neurotoxicity and must be considered in cumulative risk assessments (see Soderlund et al., Toxicology171, 2002). However, data in this manuscript does not support the hypothesis that pyrethroid effects on voltage-gated calcium channels contribute to pyrethroid neurotoxicity.
