Impact/Purpose:

This presentation is to share with the high school students attending the Environmental Science Institute: 2022 Summer Enrichment Program of the various ways I've been able to engage in 6 projects during my ORISE Fellowship and highlight the many professional skills I've developed.  

Description:

This presentation provides an overview of my contributions to 6 unique ORD projects designed to advance the knowledgebase related to complex public health issues. The research my team engages in explores effective strategies to support action, strengthen community capacity and resilience, and inform recommendations for improved health risk communication. A few of the efforts that will be expanded upon in the presentation are Smoke Ready Communities, Smoke Sense, and the EJ Academy. Implications of my experiences as an ORISE research participant in advancing my professional career goals will also be discussed.
