Impact/Purpose:
This presentation is to share with those attending the EPA Meets the World public seminar of the various ways I've been able to engage in 6 projects during my ORISE Fellowship and highlight the many professional skills I've developed while advancing my professional goals.
Description:
This presentation provides an overview of my contributions to 6 unique ORD projects designed to advance the knowledgebase related to complex public health issues. The research my team engages in explores effective strategies to support action, strengthen community capacity and resilience, and inform recommendations for improved health risk communication. A few of the efforts that will be expanded upon in the presentation are Smoke Ready Communities, Smoke Sense, and the EJ Academy. Implications of my experiences as an ORISE research participant in advancing my professional career goals will also be discussed.
