Description:
The paper describes, and gives the status of, a research program toreduce volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions from stationaryarea sources by developing, evaluating, and/or demonstratingpollution prevention options. he program includes two projects:(1) alternative coating materials and processes, and (2) consumerproduct prevention options. NOTE: The national ambient airquality standard for ozone (0.12 ppm) is exceeded in more than 100areas of the U.S. xtensive reduction of VOC emissions is requiredfor attainment. he difficulty of dealing with stationary areasources has been a major obstacle to attaining these reductions. Area sources may contribute as much as 50% of national VOCemissions, and the increasing emissions from such sources may beoutpacing efforts to control the diminishing base of uncontrolledpoint source emissions.)
