5th Annual Critical Infrastructure Resilience (CIR) and Infrastructure Security for the Built Environment (ISBE) Congress & ExpositionOverview The U.S. government has compiled a nationwide list of more than 100,000 critical infrastructures and key assets. More than 85% of our nation's critical infrastructure is owned or managed by the private sector. It is only through a public/private partnership that we will we be successful in protecting our critical infrastructure and key assets. The cost to protect these assets will run in the billions of dollars and will require companies working in partnership with the government to research and develop technologies, products, and services to get the job done and protect our homeland. Issues such as physical security, cyber security, standards, interoperability, biometrics, threat and vulnerability assessments, research and development efforts, and first responder requirements must all be considered. In order to be successful in preventing future terrorist attacks, there is much work to be done in a short period of time. A two-day high-level International Conference is being conducted which will include in-depth workshops, a table top exercise of an incident, a read team exercise, and keynote presentations by top officials from the White House, Department of Homeland Security, the Intelligence community, industry and their European and Asian counterparts.
