AWWA's Free 2-Day Workshop on Security Hardware

Overview

In order to broaden support for drinking water security, the U.S. Government selected the American Water Works Association in March of this year as the recipient of funds directed toward furthering security-related educational efforts. This USEPA-funded education is meant to assist drinking water systems in preparation for possible threats or intentional attacks, as well as to help them to comply with the requirements of the Bioterrorism Act of 2002. Why should you attend? Investing in security hardware is guaranteed to reduce the risk associated with purposeful acts from threats by insiders, vandals and terrorists.

You'll learn:
  • Identifying, comparing, and recommending methods of physical protection
  • Materials and devices to delay and detect intrusion and mitigate damage
  • Cost-effective security systems that meet all operational demands - ranging from economical single-camera installations to large-scale integrations of computerized badging systems
  • Providing security hardware guidance to the critical infrastructure areas of your water system
