Subtitle: Purdue University Helps Promote Wellhead Protection Awareness in Rural Communities
    Case Study Type: Protection
Description: Purdue University provided information and technical assistance to 36 rural Indiana CWSs to help increase public awareness of source water issues and jump-start WHP even before the source water assessments were complete. University staff met with operators to develop a local planning team and generate WHP measures. Protection measures include development of internet maps using GIS to apply land use data within the WHP area, improved health risk communication, and improved methods for developing local protection measures.
