- A Simpler, Cheaper Alternative to Sewer Systems - [PDF] - This guide describes a wastewater project in Willard, a small village in New Mexico where the sole supply of drinking water is threatened by contamination from wastewater. The Willard project is still a work in progress, but lessons learned to date can directly help other communities to minimize problems as they embark on their own wastewater projects.

Demonstration Projects for Texas
- Title: Texas, Lower Rio Grande Valley: Self Help for Colonias, Texas
Description: This project seeks to build a minimum of 3 to 30 home demonstration cluster treatment systems in the six counties of the Lower Rio Grande Valley. The project will demonstrate wastewater treatment implementation at a cost savings of at least 40 percent using self-help methodologies that can serve as model for other colonias. This project will create capacity and advocacy among all stakeholders for cluster treatment and reuse for colonias and non-colonias. It will also demonstrate innovative technologies for reuse of the treated wastewater.
