Abstract The purpose of the project was to demonstrate on a full production scale at the Marine Corps Logistics Base (MCLB) in Albany, GA, pollution prevention technologies to prevent or control emissions of hazardous air pollutants (HAPs) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). The three processes with high solvent usage selected for demonstration were: stripping paint by immersion in methylene chloride, cleaning paint equipment with methyl ethyl ketone (MEK), and applying paint by spraying solvent-borne coatings.
