Abstract

This report is released to partially satisfy the requirements of Section 122 of the Clean Air Act, as amended in 1977. This report surveys and summarizes existing published polycyclic organic matter (POM) ambient concentration data. It presents technical data used to support decision making on the need for listing POM under Section 108 (a)(1), Section 112 (b)(1)(A), or Section 111 (b)(1)(A) as required by Section 122 of the Clean Air Act. Information is provided on the general sampling and analysis techniques employed for collection of POM ambient data. Data for specific POM compounds and particulate polycyclic organic matter are also presented.
