Abstract

The document presents the methods and findings of a scientific team of forest experts assembled to investigate reports of air pollution damaged forests near Gothic, Colorado. Tree damage similar in appearance to the acid rain damaged forests in the Eastern U.S. and central Europe was observed by two visiting scientists in 1984. The report presents the findings of the team which concluded that no evidence now exists that air pollution in contributing to the natural forest decline in the area.
