Abstract | Genotoxicity of methyl methacrylate was evaluated in the dominant lethal test in the mouse. Male CD-1 mice (numbers not reported) received whole-body exposure to methyl methacrylate at vapor concentrations of 0, 100, 1000, or 9000 ppm, 6 hours/day for 5 days, then were mated with untreated females. Mortality rate increased in the high-dose group. The treatment had no adverse effects with respect to male fertility, pre-implantation loss, embryonic and fetal mortality, or conjoined placenta, indicating that methyl methacrylate was not genotoxic in this dominant lethal assay in mice. |
