Abstract | (Z)-9-octadecenylamine (ODA) was evaluated for mutagenicity in Salmonella tester strains TA98, TA100, TA1535, TA1537, and TA1538, both in the presence and absence of added metabolic activation by Aroclor-induced rat liver S9 fraction. Based on preliminary toxicity determinations, ODA, diluted with acetone, was tested for mutagenicity at concentrations up to 20 and 200 ug/plate for non-activated and activated cultures, respectively, using the plate incorporation method. ODA did not produce an increase in mutation frequency in any of the bacterial tester strains, either with or without metabolic activation. |
