Abstract
The report describes the results of the EPA National Vehicle and Fuel Emission Laboratory's in-house investigation to quantify the transient fuel spray properties from new concept injectors and technology for engine applications. A high-speed laser sheet imaging system and a laser diffraction technique were used to integrate the visual observations with the droplet size measurements from various injector nozzles.
