Abstract |
The toxicity of Santicizer B-16 was studied by means of oral treatments in white male rats. A group of ten rats weighing 170 - 230 grams was given daily oral treatments of 0.2 cc. of undiluted Santicizer B-16 for ten treatments. The dosage ranged from 775 to 1160 milligrams per kilo of body weight. The animals showed no acute reactions. They disliked the treatment, and rubbed their noses in the sawdust after treatment. The animals gained weight normally throughout the experiment. They were killed by gas five hours after the tenth treatment. |
