Abstract
The directive provides a model order that is designed to replace the outdated model order that was issued prior to the CERCLA amendments. The model order is designed to facilitate settlement negotiations by serving as an opening handposition, and to facilitate national consistency. The directive supersedes directive no. 9835.3 'Model Administrative Order for Private Party Conduct for RI/FSs,' dated January 31, 1985, and supplements directive no. 9835.8 'Model Statement of Work for Remedial Investigations and Feasibility Study Conducted by Potentially Responsible Parties (PRPs),' dated June 2, 1989.
