Abstract
As part of a continuing effort to assess and improve the quality of the data contained in the Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) database, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) conducted TRI data quality site surveys for reporting year (RY) 1996. This summary presents the significant findings and conclusions from the site surveys conducted. For RY 1996, site surveys were completed at 60 facilities: 27 facilities in SIC Code 33, the primary metals industry; 14 facilities in SIC Code 36, the electronic and other electrical equipment industry; and 19 facilities in Sic Code 37, the transportation equipment industry.
