Abstract
This booklet has been designed to acquaint the average home mechanic with the basic emissions control systems and components installed on today's cars. It stresses the fact that emissions control equipment has been installed to reduce the amount of pollution discharged to the atmosphere from automobiles and thus protect the health of people. The booklet is only intended to provide a basic knowledge and understanding of emissions control systems.
