Abstract
The Interstate Surveillance Project was initiated with the following objectives: to obtain interstate, intrastate and international information on the types and degrees of air pollution in these areas and to provide information for later in-depth studies; to demonstrate the validity of the static monitor as a tool for measuring the effects of pollutants on materials; to provide continuing surveillance to determine air pollution trends in these areas. The basic structure, monitor components, and measuring capabilities of the monitoring unit are described. An informative discussion is given of the data tabulation of sampling results for all components of all stations. Evaluation of areas (which includes overall impact of pollution as well as the major pollution problems in the area) are presented. Project data evaluation is also given. (APCO abstract)
