Abstract
Dilantin is a widely used anticonvulsant drug which has been shown to stimulate liver microsomal enzymes and reduce DDT and DDE residues in man. This investigation was undertaken to study the effect of Dilantin on the storage of DDT and DDE in the rat. Dilantin was found to reduce the levels of p,p'-DDT and p,p'-DDE in the fat and to increase liver microsomal enzyme activity in all animals except those receiving 10 ppm p,p'-DDT for 14 months.
