The proper storage, collection, and disposal of solid wastes is a major problem due to increased urbanization and the steady increase in per capita production of solid wastes. The Ohio Department of Health at the request of the Public Health Service presented a course covering all aspects of the problem, including planning. This document contains the proceedings of that course. Nationally recognized authorities in the field of solid wastes and planning presented problems and solutions to a group of trainees representing many disciplines and many sections of the country.
