February is Wastewater Month!

February is Wastewater Month!

EPA is sponsoring a year-long celebration to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Clean Water Act. Each month, the Agency is highlighting different facets of the Clean Water Act and February has been designated Wastewater Month. To celebrate Wastewater Month, EPA has just issued a new set of outreach materials that are designed to help communities conduct their own outreach campaigns. The materials include:

  • Homeowner's guides to better septic system management
  • Overviews of how wastewater systems work
  • Utility bill inserts for citizens on both sanitary sewers and septic systems
  • Kid's posters with classroom activities
  • and many other useful items

Communities can utilize the CD to customize many of these materials by adding local contact information so citizens will know where to turn when they have questions. Check out these new materials at www.epa.gov/npdes/wastewatermonth.
