Proposed Peak Wet Weather Discharge Policy

January 03, 2006

Proposed Peak Wet Weather Discharge Policy

EPA is seeking comments on a proposed policy for addressing peak wet weather events at wastewater treatment plants. The proposed policy describes the limited circumstances when certain management techniques may use to address very high flows that result from storm events. These techniques seek to ensure the continued safe operation of the treatment facility and to ensure the protection of human health and nearby waterbodies. The public comment period is open for 30 days after publication in the Federal Register. Please visit www.epa.gov/npdes/wetweather for more information.
