EPA is releasing the draft report, Toxicological Review of 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane, that was distributed to Federal agencies and White House Offices for comment during the Science Discussion step of the IRIS Assessment Development Process. Comments received from other Federal agencies and White House Offices are provided below with external peer review panel comments.

The draft Toxicological Review of 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane provides scientific support and rationale for the hazard and dose-response assessment pertaining to subchronic and chronic exposure to 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane. 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane (1,1,2,2TCE; CASRN 79-34-5) is a synthetic halogenated hydrocarbon that is a colorless, nonflammable liquid at room temperature. The major use for 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane was in the production of trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, and 1,2-Dichloroethylene.

03-Sep 2009	EPA released an external review draft of the assessment for public review and comment.
04-Dec 2009	EPA announced an external peer review workshop to be held on January 27, 2010 in a December 17, 2009 Federal Register Notice.
05-Feb 2010	EPA released the comments from the external review workshop and the public comment period.
06-Aug 2010	EPA hosted an interagency science discussion on the review of the draft Toxicological Review of 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane.
07-Sep 2010	EPA released the final report and the interagency science discussion draft with comments.

Now that the interagency review draft has been completed and finalized, this assessment has been loaded into the IRIS Web site and Database.
