Background
The draft Toxicological Review of 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane provides scientific support and rationale for the hazard and dose-response assessment pertaining to subchronic and chronic exposure to 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane. 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane (1,1,2,2TCE; CASRN 79-34-5) is a synthetic halogenated hydrocarbon that is a colorless, nonflammable liquid at room temperature. The major use for 1,1,2,2-Tetrachloroethane was in the production of trichloroethylene, tetrachloroethylene, and 1,2-Dichloroethylene.

| Sep 2009 | EPA released an external review draft of the assessment for public review and comment. |
| Dec 2009 | EPA announced an external peer review workshop to be held on January 27, 2010 in a December 17, 2009 Federal Register Notice. |
| Feb 2010 | EPA released the comments from the external review workshop and the public comment period. |
| Aug 2010 | EPA hosted an interagency science discussion on the review of the draft Toxicological Review of 1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane. |
| Sep 2010 | EPA released the final report and the interagency science discussion draft with comments. |
