Title
Information on nano-TiO2 in DuPont reports from June 5, 2008 phone conversation
Author(s)
Warheit, DB
Year
2008
Abstract
Per personal phone conversation with Dr. David Warheit (June 5 2008), to Dr. Amy Wang.
In Warheit (2007; "Development of a base set of toxicity tests using ultrafine TiO2 particles as a component of nanoparticle risk management," Toxicol. Lett. 171(3): 99-110), all uf-A, uf-B, and uf-C are coated. None of them are doped. All three are designed to be photo-passivative (to protect plastic from UV degradation.
In other papers (e.g., Warheit, 2007, "Pulmonary toxicity study in rats with three forms of ultrafine-TiO2 particles: differential responses related to surface properties," Toxicology 230: 90-104), uf-A is called uf-1, uf-B = uf-2, and uf-C = uf-3. uf-C (uf-3) is 79% rutile, 21% anatase; DeGussa P25 is 20% rutile, 80% anatase.
