Overview FY 2009 Funding Levels
Flood Mitigation Assistance Program  The Flood Mitigation Assistance (FMA) program provides funding to states, federally-recognized Indian tribal governments, and communities so that cost-effective measures are taken to reduce or eliminate the long-term risk of flood damage to buildings, manufactured homes, and other structures insured under the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP). The long-term goal of FMA is to reduce or eliminate claims under the NFIP through mitigation activities. Three types of grants are available under FMA: Planning, Project, and Technical Assistance.  $32 million
