Watershed Rehabilitation Program

This program provides Federal cost-share funding for the rehabilitation of aging dams that were installed primarily through the Watershed Protection and Flood Prevention Program over the past 55 years. The purpose for rehabilitation is to extend the service life of dams and bring them into compliance with applicable safety and performance standards or to decommission the dams so they no longer pose a threat to life and property. |
$40 million through the FY2009 Appropriations, $50 million through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act
