Overview FY 2009 Funding Levels
Water Resources on Indian Lands  This program assists Indian tribes with the management, planning, protection, and development of their water resources and related land resources. Tribes use funds for specific water resource projects, as well as to collect and analyze baseline data and to facilitate litigation and negotiation activities. Previously funded projects have included geographic and hydrologic quantitative and qualitative analysis of water, ground water and surface water quality and quantity monitoring, aquifer classification, stream gaging, ecosystem development and management, and planning for compliance with the Endangered Species Act.  $5.6 million
