The EJBib Web site offers four methods for searching publications: (1) Advanced Search, (2) Simple Search, (3) State Map Search, and (4) PDF Files.

Advanced Search allows you to select key words in pick lists or to type words or phrases in predetermined fields, such as "Publisher." You may select more than one criterion within a pick list by using the Control [Ctrl] or Shift keys. Multiple selections will narrow the search results. Once you have selected your search parameters, click the Search EJBib button to initiate the search. Click the Reset button to clear the current search parameters so that new search criteria may be entered.

Once you click the Search EJBib button, you will be taken to the records view. Click the Return to Search button to return to the previous search screen. From the records view screen, you may choose Citation View (default) or Bibliographic View to view the results. In Citation View, click to view detailed information. Click on a column header to sort by the column.

Simple Search works as a key word search. Searches look for records that contain the search criteria phrase. For example, searches for titles with the phrase "particulate matter" will yield "Review of the National Ambient Air Quality Standards for Particulate Matter." Searches are not case sensitive.

Once you click the Search EJBib button, you will be taken to the records view. Click the Return to Search button to return to the previous search screen. From the records view screen, you may choose Citation View (default) or Bibliographic View to view the results. In Citation View, click to view detailed information. Click on a column header to sort by the column.

State Map Search allows you to search articles in the EJBib database by a specific state or U.S. territory. The title, article, key words, and annotation fields are searched using the state or U.S. territory name and abbreviation.

Once you select a state or U.S. territory from either the map or the drop down menu, you will be taken to the records view. Click the Return to Search button to return to the previous search screen. From the records view screen, you may choose Citation View (default) or Bibliographic View to view the results. In Citation View, click to view detailed information. Click on a column header to sort by the column.

PDF Files allows you to view PDF files of the information in the database by a specific year (more recent publications) or range of years (older publications).
