Search Tips for Search the DED by Keyword
Search the DED by Keyword
allows users to enter a keyword or string of keywords and retrieve a list of tables and elements whose
DED entries contain that keyword or string of keywords. Search results display the common (English)
name of the DED entry, the system name, and whether the DED entry is for a table or an element. To ensure
the best match, utilize the following tips:
-
Keyword Search only returns entries that contain all the words in your query. To refine or narrow your search,
add more words to the search terms you have already entered. The words do not need to be present in the results
contiguously or in the same order. There is no need to include "and" between terms. Each word is wildcarded at
both the beginning and end, and case is ignored. For example:
rcra action
retrieves entries containing both "rcra" or "RCRA" plus "Action" or "action", "subaction", "actions", etc.
-
Words separated by “OR” or “or” are treated as above except that only one of the words must be present for an
entry to be retrieved. "OR" can be used in the same search together with non-OR'd words. For example, to search
for "NPL" plus either "site" or "action", enter:
npl site or action
To search for the words "and" or "or" themselves, enclose them in quotation marks.
-
Multiple words enclosed in quotation marks are treated as a single search term, wildcarded as above. Case is
ignored. Quoted search phrases may be combined with single words. For example:
"RCRA subaction" financial
retrieves entries containing the phrase "RCRA subaction" plus the word "financial" or "financially", etc.
-
A maximum of four search terms (single words or phrases surrounded by quotation marks) can be used in a search.
If more than four terms are entered, the extra terms are ignored.
