The State of Missouri Department of Revenue contracts out vehicle licensing and registration services in St. Louis, Missouri. On such licensing and registration location is called the South Kingshighway License Office.

From December 2011 until February 2012, Alice Gregory was a Fee Clerk at the South Kingshighway location. As part of her job, she was responsible for registering and renewing motor vehicle registrations. She allegedly processed approximately 37 motor vehicle registrations and renewals using fraudulent records, including emissions certificates, property tax forms and insurance cards. Gregory all allegedly accepted bribes in exchange for processing some of the fraudulent transactions. Various forms associated with these questioned vehicle transactions were mailed, via the U.S. Postal Service, to the Missouri Department of Revenue in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Gregory was charged with one count of mail fraud, a violation of 18 U.S.C. 1341.

Gregory pled guilty to the count.

September 6, 2012
Gregory was sentenced to 36 months probation. No fine or restitution was imposed.
