Step 1: Define the Case

• 1.3. Results and Next Steps

At the conclusion of Step 1, you should have the following products (example products from Step 1).

• A definition of the impairment or group of impairments that will be the focus of the investigation,
• A definition of the specific effects that will form the basis for the analysis,
• A description of the geographic extent, and
• A statement of investigations objectives.

After you develop these products, proceed to Step 2, List Candidate Causes.
